Jim Larkin, MS

Mr. Larkin is president of Scientific Methods Inc., which focuses on providing microbiological research, laboratory analyses and product development services that address important public health and environmental problems.

Prior to establishing SMI, Mr. Larkin co-founded Environmental Health Laboratories in 1986.   During the next 16 years, he planned, organized, directed, and provided business planning and development leadership to enable EHL to become the nation's most widely recognized drinking water laboratory. During that period he served as Vice President and was charged with the implementation of the marketing and sales programs to achieve EHL's long-range business development objectives. He was also principally responsible for initiating the program to develop advanced microbiological capabilities at EHL. In recent years his efforts focused on developing new strategic initiatives to capitalize on emerging market opportunities.

Prior to starting EHL, Mr. Larkin worked as a Clinical Coordinator and Statistian for Syva Co. and for Stanford University, where he participated in the collection and submission of method validation data to the USFDA, coordinated or supervised method evaluation studies for over 40 clinical trials.
