Jim Larkin, MS
Mr.
Larkin is president of Scientific Methods Inc., which focuses
on providing microbiological research, laboratory analyses
and product development services that address important
public health and environmental problems.
Prior
to establishing SMI, Mr. Larkin co-founded Environmental
Health Laboratories in 1986. During the next 16 years,
he planned, organized, directed, and provided business planning
and development leadership to enable EHL to become the nation's
most widely recognized drinking water laboratory.
During that period he served as Vice President and was charged
with the implementation of the marketing and sales programs
to achieve EHL's long-range business development objectives.
He was also principally responsible for initiating
the program to develop advanced microbiological capabilities
at EHL. In recent years his efforts focused on developing
new strategic initiatives to capitalize on emerging market
opportunities.
Prior to starting EHL, Mr. Larkin worked as a Clinical Coordinator and Statistian for Syva Co. and for Stanford University, where he participated in the collection and submission
of method validation data to the USFDA, coordinated or supervised
method evaluation studies for over 40 clinical trials.
