Continuous Flow Centrifuge
• Approved by USEPA for Cryptosporidium concentration
• Multiple pathogen concentration
• Accommodates turbid water samples
SMI’s CFC utilizes an innovative centrifugation technology that is
EPA-approved for the concentration of Cryptosporidium from surface
water samples and is particularly effective with water samples that
have high turbidities. In November 2004, CFC received EPA Tier 2
approval, making CFC available to all laboratories that provide
Cryptosporidium testing under the Long-Term 2 Enhanced Surface
Water Treatment Rule.

The most economic method to recover Cryptosporidium for the LT2 Rule
If a laboratory analyzes 50 water samples per month; $30,400 can be saved the first year and $45,000 will be saved the second year, even when including the cost to purchase a CFC system.
